The Tyndrum branch was a former Little Chef located on the A82 near Tyndrum, Scotland.

The Little Chef opened in 1987 as part of Forte's plan to grow their presence on the A82 Glasgow to Inverness corridor. They already had Dumbarton at the south end and opened Tyndrum and Spean Bridge to cover the centre and the north end.

Tyndrum was a clever location. Not only is it on the section of the A82 where it shares its route with the A85 Perth to Oban route but it is slap bang on one of the area's best tourist assets, the West Highland Way.

Like Killiecrankie, Tyndrum also had basic cabin-type accommodation for staff located behind the restaurant due to its remote location.

Sadly, around 2004 Little Chef's then owners Permira decided to put a load of sites up for sale shortly before they put Little Chef itself on the market and Tyndrum was one of them. It was gone by 2005.  Happily that was not the end and the site, in the same building, lives on as the highly regarded independent "Real Food Cafe". It remains busy and is proof if it were needed that Forte knew a thing or two about their locations!
