History[]
The Little Chef at Tyndrum first opened in 1987 as part of Forte's plan to grow their presence on the A82 Glasgow to Inverness corridor. The restaurant traded as a standalone site, although it was located in close proximity to The Green Welly Stop, a popular landmark for those travelling north to the Scottish Highlands.
Like some other Little Chef sites, particularly those in rural locations, the restaurant at Tyndrum also had basic cabin-type accommodation for staff located behind the restaurant due to its remote location.
In 2004, the Little Chef at Tyndrum ceased trading, following the cull of 131 Little Chef restaurants by then owners, Permira, nationwide.
Following the closure of the Little Chef, the building then played host to The Real Food Cafe, which still trades from the site to this day.
