The Take Five Breakfast was a short-lived breakfast option on the Little Chef menu which was only around from about late 2006 to mid 2007. It's name is a play on words - Take Five refers to the amount of items a customer got with their breakfast, as well as being a phrase meaning to take a short break.

It was a replacement for the oldest of the Little Chef breakfasts - The Early Starter, which had been going through a bit of an identity crisis at the time. Little Chef management were having problems with finding out what people wanted Early Starter to contain, with items such as Heinz beans and sausages being added and then removed from the meal with each new menu.

The Take Five Breakfast was an intended solution to this problem. As opposed to the Early Starter, which had a set list of breakfast items it contained, the Take Five instead allowed customers to fully customise what they got as their breakfast. Each purchased breakfast would allow the customer to choose five items from a selection of breakfast foods listed on the menu.

However, this decision to replace the Early Starter was misjudged, and there was an outcry over it's removal. The Early Starter would be reinstated in 2007 with a new set of included items, the most notable of which being two hash browns. This new version would continue right until the end of the Little Chef chain in 2018.
