As of February 2023, the Little Chef Wiki has been taken over by a new administrator. One of the major problems the previous Wiki had was that it was more of a motorway services wiki, rather than a Little Chef / roadside dining wiki. Since there are already numerous guides to motorway services online, we want to make this Wiki more to do with Little Chef:
- This Wiki considers Little Chef buildings and Little Chef sites to be different. We only want to reflect the current state of the former Little Chef buildings, therefore, once a building is demolished, we record it as 'Now Demolished' in categories. We don't list in categories what has been built to replace it, only if the original building's use has changed. This will help us to maintain status as a Little Chef wiki, and not as a motorway services wiki.
- Sadly, Fandom don't allow renaming of categories, so the 'Current Travelodge Sites' include both current and former Travelodge sites, this is the same for the forecourt categories. Recently, a new category has been created, named 'Paired Travelodge', which will eventually replace the category 'Current Travelodge Sites'.
- In terms of the 'Other Roadside Chains' category, this can include any chain (more than one restaurant) which operate comfort food dining establishments on roadsides, this does not include fast-food and takeaway premises. At the moment, there are only four brands which meet this description.
Side note: Similar to Woolworths, there are rumours every few years that Little Chef is making a return, which turn out to be false. As of writing, Little Chef is a brand owned by Kout Food Group K.S.C.C. in Kuwait. Kout chose to retain the Little Chef intellectual property when they sold the sites to EG Group in 2017. Kout-UK expressed desires to franchise the name in their UK company accounts a few years later, however Kout left the UK market in 2020, and as so, the Little Chef trademarks are now registered in Kuwait. With the arrival of Brightside Roadside in 2023, as well as Mollie's Motel & Diner announcing they want to rapidly expand over the next ten years, it seems unlikely Little Chef will re-enter the market.
