The Rainham branch was a former Little Chef restaurant located on the A2 near Rainham, Kent.

The Little Chef at Rainham first opened between 1972 and 1976 and was one of the first Little Chef sites to be built in Kent. The restaurant was housed in a small white bungalow; the typical Little Chef house design of the era. The site of the Little Chef was positioned on the A2 about halfway between Gillingham and Sittingbourne. The good thing about the stretch of the A2 that the Little Chef stood on was that it was single laned, meaning that travellers driving on both sides of the A2 could gain easy access to the Little Chef without any form of detour. In terms of parking, there was a large parking area behind and in front of the Little Chef (quite a lot of parking areas for a small restaurant!)

In terms of facilities, there was only the Little Chef. However, a Texaco filling station was positioned next to the Little Chef so it didn't stand completely alone!

Some sad news came in late 2003 at the time when Permira of Canada decided to sell 131 Little Chef sites in the UK and Rainham was sadly one of the first to close. As a result, the Little Chef closed. After the closure of the Little Chef, a Mercedes Benz car dealership took over the building. However, this closed some time later and the building has since remained empty. It then operated as a used car specialist shop known as Medway Autos, with the former Texaco also trading as Medway Autos, before it became a restaurant again.

A real miss for this Little Chef branch.
