The Port Glasgow branch was a Little Chef on the main A8 Greenock Road eastbound, just to the north of Port Glasgow town centre.

Opened in 1975/76, this was at a time when the Clyde-side port towns of Greenock and Port Glasgow had thriving industries, large populations and were the gateway to holiday destinations linked by island ferries and the coast road south. Therefore, building a Little Chef here made lots of sense due to the large local population, commuter and holiday traffic. The Little Chef's original location was given as Scarlow Street, the original route of the A8, but the Little Chef was actually located on Greenock Road, the newer dual carriageway which opened in the late 60s. By 1982 this had been joined by an Esso filling station

However, by 1985/6 the Little Chef had closed down. Around this time the industry in Greenock and Port Glasgow had fallen on hard times and this had hit both towns hard. Unemployment was high and the population was shrinking. Plus, improvements to roads around Paisley to the east meant that a lot of coastal traffic could bypass Greenock and Port Glasgow and still reach destinations like Largs easily. Both of these propbably contributed to the Little Chef's demise.

Today, the remains of the Little Chef car park can still be seen alongside the filling station, which itself closed in 2011.
