The Little Chef first opened between 1968 and 1972 in a two storey building. In the early 1970s, in order to grow Little Chef quickly and to get around the time required to get new sites through planning and build them, Forte dispatched teams to go round and try and buy up existing roadside cafes, restaurants and inns. It looks as if this may have been one of these sites given that it is not typical of the Little Chef house style of the period. In this case there was also a neighbouring filling station which was attractive to Forte as it helped attract more passing trade.
The Little Chef lasted until 2007 when then owners People's Restaurant Company hit financial problems. Little Chef was then taken over by R Capital but 41 sites were closed in the process, one of which was Guyhirn. However, the site did not stay closed for long. In 2008, cafe entrepreneur Tony Ibrahim bought the old Little Chef building and turned it into an adult store known as Kiss Kiss Lingerie. He described it as the "Sex Capital of Fenland". However, the shop only lasted for 4 years until it closed in 2012. The building remains vacant once again.
