The Galston branch was a former Little Chef, located on the A71 just on the outskirts of Galston.

The branch opened between 1972 and 1976, although it is anticipated to have been closer to 1972. It was built alongside the Bobbin Filling Station which was located on the main Edinburgh to Kilmarnock route, linking the Scottish Capital to the west coast and south west. This was potentially a great site for Little Chef.

However, by 1980 the restaurant had gone. It's unclear why Forte chose to pull out of this area, although perhaps it was due to Symington, further south on the A77 (a road used South of Kilmarnock as a follow-on by much A71 traffic) being a strategically better site.

This was not the end though with Forte returning to the area in 1990/91 and opening a site at the A71/ A76/ A77 junction just a few miles further east.

Shortly after closing, Galston Little Chef became a tearoom but has since been demolished and a soft play centre known as Juniper Jungle has been built on the site of the old Little Chef. Between 2016 and 2020, this became Engage Fitness.
