The Bramshott Chase branch was a former Little Chef restaurant located near the A3 in Hindhead, Surrey.
The Little Chef first opened between 1968 and 1972 in a building in the style of a large roadhouse or Inn. This was around the time that Forte dispatched teams to go around the country buying up existing roadside eateries to quickly grow Little Chef so this would fit with that. The site was located just off the A3 on Knockhundred Lane just outside of Hindhead and also near Liphook. It was originally called Hindhead with the name later changed to Bramshott Chase.
Obviously impressed with the style of the restaurant Forte used Bramshott Chase in the pictures for the 1972 map immortalising it in print forever.
In 2004/05, Permira announced the sale of 131 Little Chef sites that were deemed to be underperforming and Bramshott Chase was one of the list. As a result, the Little Chef closed and was gone by 2005. It has been a couple of independent outlets since but is believed to be for sale again. Given that it still has access and is visible from the southbound A3 there is still life in this site yet.
