The Billingham branch was located on the A19, with a range of restaurants nearby.
One of Little Chef's last restaurants to open, this branch was sadly demolished, barely lasting 5 years. However, fast food joints still operate here.
Address and Onsite Information
Facilities: BP, Londis, Subway, Costa Express, Rollover, Air1 AdBlue, Car Wash, Jet Wash, Free Cash Machine, McDonald's, KFC Drive Thru, Costa Drive Thru, Domino's Pizza, Premier Inn
A retail area was built in addition to a Shell. McDonald's built a restaurant, followed by a Holiday Inn Express and the Billingham branch of Little Chef with a garden in 2000. This closed in 2005, falling victim to Permira's closures. The car park however, was still very strictly managed. In 2006, the building was demolished after being abandoned for a year, even though the building was new and perfect sizing, and replaced with a KFC Drive Thru. The garden became car parking.
The forecourt was rebranded to BP in 2012, and the store rebranded from Nisa Local to Londis in 2017. The hotel was re-branded to Premier Inn and a Costa Drive Thru was built. In 2019, filling a space, a Domino's Pizza store was built in a grassed area. Sadly but believeable, the Little Chef is long gone and forgotten about by many.
2006 Parking Debate
In 2006, a man was fined for parking in the carpark, which caused a brief misunderstanding and strict rules being enforced by the parking owner. The local area's newspaper reported here.
