The Little Chef opened in 1986 in what looks to be a converted house. This coincided with the construction of the M53 motorway linking the Wallasey Tunnels with Chester and its location beside junction 5 meant that the Bebington Little Chef was perfectly placed to capitalise on these traffic movements. It was also one of the first to receive a Little Chef Lodge, with the two complimenting each other well. This later became Forte Travelodge
Sadly despite a very decent run, the Little Chef closed in 2012 when then owners R Capital announced it would be closing 67 underperforming branches.
It did not sit empty for long though. Fuel forecourt operator Euro Garages bought the building in 2013 and re-opened the former restaurant as a Starbucks. They have done the same with several former Little Chef sites. The 'minimilk' lamp posts in the car park still remain to this day.
