History[]
The Little Chef at Attleborough South first opened in circa. 1990, alongside a filling station on the southbound side of the A11 between Norwich and Thetford. The site operated in tandem with a service station located directly opposite on the northbound side of the carriageway, which too comprised a filling station and restaurant, with the latter operating as a Happy Eater.
The Happy Eater on the northbound side became a Little Chef in 1997, creating a dual-sided Little Chef site. The northbound restaurant would later close in 2007.
The Little Chef at Attleborough South closed in 2008, alongside a small number of other sites nationwide.
Following the closure of the restaurant, the building stood empty for a few years until 2012, when the building played host to an American Diner called Mr D's Diner. The diner closed in 2017 and was replaced with a Starbucks shortly afterwards.
