History[]

Oversley Mill Services first opened in 1990, following the construction of a new bypass to the west of Alcester which took traffic using the A435 away from the town centre. Having been planned for quite a while, a Little Chef opened here in the spring of 1995, alongside the existing filling station and a Travelodge hotel. Having opened by then owners Forte, who saw Alcester as a potentially profitable site, it received a Coffee Stop, which later became a Burger King when new owners, Granada took over. This provided travellers with a fast food option as well as a sit down choice, although the Burger King later closed. The restaurant also received a Coffee Tempo! for a short period of time as well.

The site continued to trade well until 2012 when then owners R Capital decided to close several sites that it deemed to be underperforming with Alcester identified as one of these. It was one of the last ones to close throughout the year, having closed in December 2012. It later reopened as a McDonald's.
