History[]

The Little Chef opened in 1989, replacing an existing Little Chef located a short distance to the west which closed following the opening of the Acle Bypass to the south of the village. The replacement Little Chef opened alongside a filling station and Travelodge hotel and was housed in a building with the pitched roof, double front design, the typical building style for Little Chefs opening at the time.

The Little Chef at Acle was notably distinctive as it was one of only two branches to adopt a green-themed interior, with counters, partitions, and lampshades all finished in green. The only other site to feature this look was Long Sutton, located on the A17 in Lincolnshire.

In 1998, plans were put forward for a Burger King to be added to the Little Chef; however, this never materialised. In 2016, the restaurant was expected to undergo a refurbishment, which would've seen a Burger King added to the site; however, this too never came to fruition.

Following the takeover of the Little Chef brand by Euro Garages in 2017, the Little Chef at Acle ceased trading in March of the same year, making it one of the first Little Chef sites to have closed following the acquisition of the chain. The building was converted into a Starbucks during the same year.
